PRH & Lambda Literary Collaborate to Introduce LGBTQ+ Books in NYC Classrooms

Penguin Random House is thrilled to join forces earlier this year with Lambda Literary's LGBTQ Writers in Schools program, an initiative that partners with the NYC Department of Education to bring LGBTQ+ writers and their works to K-12 classrooms across New York City. Since 2015, every student in the program has received a copy of the featured book, followed by a visit from the author who signs each student's copy. The program primarily serves Title 1 schools, which cater to children from low-income backgrounds, making access to LGBTQ+ literature crucial for LGBTQ+ students and their allies.

If he isn’t writing about trans hope and gay kissing, he’s probably white-knuckling his way through the ninth inning of a Seattle Mariners game. THE PROSPECTS is his debut novel.

Our 2024 James Beard Foundation Media Award Winners

On Sunday, June 8th, the 2024 James Beard Foundation Media Award Winners were announced. As a delightful (and delicious) surprise, five Penguin Random House titles were honored in the Book Awards category. The Book Awards recognize cookbooks and other non-fiction food or beverage-related books that were published in the U.S. in 2023 and among the thirteen categories, Penguin Random House took home the awards for International, U.S. Foodways, Vegetable-Focused Cooking, Visuals, and General. The ceremony was hosted by CBS This Morning co-host Michelle Miller.

Blue Star Press Acquires Sasquatch Books, Expanding Strategic Partnership with Penguin Random House

Blue Star Press, an independent publisher based in Bend, Oregon, is pleased to announce that as part of its ongoing partnership with Penguin Random House, it has entered into a 10-year extension of its sales and distribution agreement and acquired Sasquatch Books. The deal was announced today by Peter Licalzi, CEO, Blue Star Press, and Jeff Abraham, President of Publishing Operations, Technology, and Services, Penguin Random House. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
